#MT2030: The Climate Cult is Coming to Town
Mountain Towns 2030 will be jetting into Jackson Hole for their 2024 Climate Con
If you are fascinated by eco-fascism, seek “sustainable” revenue streams, believe that atmospheric carbon is currently the greatest threat to carbon-based life, and feel entitled to a pat on the back for pretending to save the planet, please consider booking a luxurious Jackson Hole vacation for the fall of 2024.
On October 15th and 16th the Mountain Towns 2030 (MT2030) Summit will be convening at the JH Center for the Arts, a sprawling complex conveniently nestled amidst the delightful assortment of construction cranes looming over downtown Jackson. Fall can be a magical time to visit the Tetons, and hosting a conglomeration of CO2-obsessed climate cultists is a great way to sustainably boost off-season tourism!
The Town of Jackson (TOJ) was selected to host the 2024 MT2030 Summit “due to the town’s ambitious goal to be net zero for carbon emissions by 2030.” Apparently building a $50,000,000 private jet terminal at the Jackson Hole Airport is consistent with TOJ’s “ambitious goal to be net zero for carbon emissions by 2030.”
Perhaps Jackson’s plan is to develop as much frivolous infrastructure as possible before the 2030 deadline. Clearly their net zero calculations will not account for the carbon spewed by private jets, more modest transportation to and from The Hole, the steady streams of inbound commodities and outbound trash, or the mysterious global economic activity that makes mere mortals into the bonafied billionaires buying up and building out the valley.
Call me crazy, but I have a sneaking suspicion that TOJ’s plans for “sustainable development” are primarily designed to keep the economy growing and the tax-revenue flowing. Saving the planet is a rather expensive undertaking, after all.
The TOJ has been seeking volunteers to help coordinate the MT2030 event, so —naturally — I applied. Their online application form said, “The ideal committee will represent diverse interest groups, communities, and sectors that support climate action, and are well-connected locally and/or regionally.”
Being a very well-connected, passionate, critical thinking, communicative, outdoorsy, blue collar, environmental activist I felt like a shoe in to help shape the Summit. Sadly, I have yet to hear back, and my hopes of being selected are dwindling. The deeper I dove into the mission of MT2030 the more I realized that my “diverse interests” might be a little too much for such a C02-centric congregation to digest.
I believe — you see — that humans are changing the climate in myriad ways, and that a truly scientific discussion of anthropomorphic climate change must consider how decades of intentional weather modification have changed and are currently changing Earth’s climate.
Calling these concerns a “cOnSpiRaCy tHeOry” only reveals one’s own ignorance: in 2013 the CIA acknowledged that, “the number of countries with weather-modification programs during the past decade has increased from 24 to 42, with at least 150 active programs worldwide as of 2012.” Mainstream media coverage of the issues surrounding weather modification goes back more than a century.
For example, all the way back in 1972 humanity learned about the covert weaponization of weather modification by the US military throughout the Vietnam War:
I assure you this is just the tip of the iceberg.
Fast forward 50 years and today weather modification is more prevalent than ever before. For example, China is currently modifying the weather over a land area larger than the country of India. Here in the US mountain west, ongoing weather modification programs are openly conducted by the Wyoming Water Development Office, Idaho Power Company, Colorado Water Conservation Board, Utah Division of Water Resources, Desert Research Institute of Nevada, Weather Modification Association, North American Weather Modification Association, and several other organizations.
Now geoengineering — a planetary weather modification project — is widely reported on as a proposed “mitigation strategy” for climate change. Many concerned citizens — your author included — think that overt and covert weather modification programs are already having a massive impact on Earth’s climate, and that geoengineering would more likely be weaponized than used to save us all from that elusive specter called climate change.
Even Michael Mann, the Keynote Speaker of the 2022 MT2030 Summit recently warned about the dangers of geoengineering.
Strangely, these facts and concerns elude most of the folks who are so concerned about climate change that they are willing to completely revamp society in hopes of doing something about it. They willfully ignore the historical record and ample evidence visible overhead:
The cartoonist @madebyjimbob satirized this situation quite exquisitely just today:
Sadly, membership in the climate cult and attendance at MT2030 is currently conditional upon the ability to completely ignore the obvious and focus solely on a handful of invisible trace gases in Earth’s atmosphere.
If MT2030 and similar organizations do not rediscover their senses, pull their heads out of their asses the sand, and embrace a legitimate line of inquiry soon we will all suffer for their ignorance. As it stands now, MT2030 and similar organizations only serve to obscure the truth and are dangerously pushing us towards an ecofascist future where deception and hypocrisy reign supreme.
